Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred this morning in Rockville.
On Monday, November 2, at approximately 5:55 a.m., 6th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Shady Grove Road at Briardale Road for the report of a personal injury collision.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, Jose Amaya Flores, age 59, of an unknown address, was crossing northbound Shady Grove Road in a westerly direction when he was struck by a 2017 Honda Ridgeline traveling north on Shady Grove Road. A 2014 Toyota Prius, also traveling northbound on Shady Grove Road, then struck the rear of the Honda Ridgeline. The Honda Ridgeline was driven by Matthew Taylor, age 54, of Gaithersburg, and the Toyota Prius was driven by Sandra Valladares, age 46, of Laytonsville.
Amaya Flores was pronounced deceased at the scene. Valladares was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Taylor was not injured in the collision.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police-Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision that occurred early this morning in Silver Spring.
On Sunday, September 20, at approximately 12:49 a.m., officers from the 3rd District, Takoma Park Police Department officers, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue for a pedestrian-involved collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle, possibly a light–colored sedan, was traveling north on Carroll Avenue. In the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue, the vehicle struck Wilmar Gomez Gonzalez, age 24, of Hyattsville, who was standing in the roadway. After striking Gonzalez, the vehicle left the area. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Update: Pedestrian Hit and Run Collision in Aspen Hill Now Fatal: Detectives Continue to Seek Information About Striking Vehicle
Officers from the 4th District continue to investigate a serious pedestrian hit-and-run collision that occurred on Tuesday, August 11, in the Aspen Hill area. The Police Department is releasing photographs of the striking vehicle and is asking anyone with information about the striking vehicle to come forward to the Department.
On August 11 at approximately 10:09 a.m., 4th District officers responded to a pedestrian-involved collision on Bel Pre Road at London Lane. Preliminary investigation revealed that 62-year-old Robert Lawrence of Silver Spring had for reasons still under investigation, stopped his vehicle, a white box truck, in the far right lane of westbound Bel Pre Road just prior to London Lane. Lawrence was outside of his vehicle on the driver’s side when he was struck by a vehicle travelling west on Bel Pre Road. The striking vehicle, described by a witness as possibly a light-colored pickup truck, fled the scene.
Lawrence was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Officers obtained video of the striking vehicle that was captured by an area surveillance camera. The striking vehicle may be a two-door Ford F-250 or F-350 with a truck bed cover.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred last night in Rockville.
On January 15, 2020, at approximately 8:41 pm, officers from the 1st District and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services personnel responded to the 12200 block of Rockville Pike for a personal injury collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Nissan Sentra, driven by Adam Moche Aseraph, age 28 of Rockville, was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike when his vehicle struck Michael Louis Gamboa, age 40 of Gaithersburg, who was attempting to cross southbound Rockville Pike in an easterly direction. Aseraph remained on the scene after the collision.
Michael Louis Gamboa was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Adam Moche Aseraph was not injured.
