Concern for Missing Bethesda Woman with Dementia (Located)

UPDATE: Akiko King has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 86-year-old Bethesda woman who has dementia.

Akiko Sato King of the 4500 block of East West Highway was last seen at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at her residence.

King is approximately 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. She has gray hair and brown eyes.  King walks with the assistance of a cane.  She may be carrying a multicolored tote bag with a design that depicts children playing.

King frequents the downtown Bethesda area.

(LOCATED) Concern for Missing Adelphi Area Woman

Indranie Theresa Deonarine

Update: June 26, 2020 – Indranie Theresa Deonarine has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Adelphi area woman.

Indranie Theresa Deonarine, age 44, was last seen by family at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 when she left her Mount Pisgah Road home in a taxi.  Family has been unable to contact her since that time.

Deonarine is approximately 5’2” tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds.  She has black hair and brown eyes.

Police and family are concerned for Deonarine’s physical and emotional welfare.

Concern for Missing Silver Spring Juvenile (Located)

Update: (6/26/2020): Kiera Evans has been located safe and unharmed.

The Montgomery County Department of Police- Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Silver Spring juvenile.

Kiera Evans, age 15, of Ellsworth Court, was last seen at her residence on the evening of June 23.

Evans is described as approximately 5’ 4” tall, 105 pounds, with green eyes and blond hair (possibly in braids).

Her family believes she may be in Annapolis, Maryland, or West Virginia.

Family and police are concerned for Kiera Evans’ welfare.  Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).

(LOCATED) Concern for Missing Silver Spring Area Man

William Howard Flowers

Update: June 26, 2020 – William Howard Flowers has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Silver Spring area man.

William Howard Flowers, age 76, was last seen by family on Friday, June 19 when he left his Albert Stewart Lane home on foot.

Flowers is approximately 5′ 11″ tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.  He has black hair and brown eyes.  Flowers was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black zip-up sweatshirt, and jeans.

Police and family are concerned for Flowers’ welfare.

Alcohol Initiatives Unit Officer Arrests Driver for Possession of Handgun During Traffic Stop in Silver Spring

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Alcohol Initiatives Unit have arrested and charged Frederick Bangura, age 21, of Silver Spring, Maryland, with firearm-related offenses to include possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

On June 20, at approximately 12:53 a.m., an Alcohol Initiatives Unit officer was on routine patrol and was driving in the area of Fenton Street in Silver Spring when he conducted a traffic stop of a Hyundai Elantra.

The officer identified the driver of the Hyundai as Bangura and also identified the passenger.  While the officer spoke with Bangura he observed marijuana on Bangura’s shirt and in his lap.  During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun in a purse placed on the back seat and a loaded high-capacity handgun magazine on the driver’s side floorboard.  Additional marijuana was located on Bangura’s person.

It was determined that Bangura is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior criminal conviction.

Bangura was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit.
