The Montgomery County Department of Police and the Montgomery County Family Justice Center (FJC) will be accepting a donation of approximately 70 new plush toys that were collected by Adventure Theatre MTC.
WHEN: Thursday, December 5, 2019 (TOMORROW) – 9:45 a.m.
WHERE: 2nd District Police Station, 4823 Rugby Avenue, Bethesda, Community Room
WHAT: Donated plush toys being received by Police Chief Marcus Jones, FJC Director Thomas Manion, and Sheriff Darren Popkin from representatives of Adventure Theatre MTC. As well as an opportunity to learn more about the services offered to adults and children at the Family Justice Center.
For the duration of Adventure Theatre MTC’s production of “Winnie the Pooh,” the theater partnered with the Montgomery County Department of Police and held a plush toy drive with a goal to donate the toys to children dealing with abuse or trauma. These stuffed animals will be used by the FJC and the police department to help support children going through traumatic events such as domestic violence and severe traffic collisions.
The Family Justice Center, located in Rockville, is a collaboration of public and private county agencies seeking to provide services to families impacted by domestic violence, in a family-friendly environment.
Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) educates and inspires new generations of theater artists and audiences with exceptional theatrical experiences. It has a long tradition of partnering to assist local nonprofits.
