The Duty Commander Section consists of two executive officers: Captain Paul Liquorie and a currently vacant Captain’s position. These officers are responsible for the coordination of all police department operations during the nighttime hours. They work closely with the six District Commanders to ensure the police response to community crime issues is consistent and efficient.
Public safety in Montgomery County includes various local police departments, federal agencies, and military police. Coordination of these public safety agencies is the responsibility of the Duty Commander.
Patrol operations during the nighttime hours requires clear supervisory and managerial lines of command. The Duty Commander Section provides the citizens of Montgomery County a clear transition of command from the District Commander during daytime to the Duty Commander at night.
These Captains report to the Assistant Chief of Police, Patrol Bureau.
