Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision in Olney Area

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred this morning in Olney.

Today at approximately 10:26 a.m., 6th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Bowie Mill Road at Fraley Farm Road for the report of a collision involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Bowie Mill Road and a 2015 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Bowie Mill Road in the area of Fraley Farm Road when the two cars collided.  The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation.

The driver of the Honda Accord, Xiaolin Fu (male), age 51, of Circle Gate Drive in Germantown, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two passengers in the vehicle, Wenshuo Zhu (female), age 45, of Circle Gate Drive and a 13-year-old female* were also transported to local hospitals.  Zhu succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.  The juvenile was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

(*The 13-year-old is identified as Grace Fu of Circle Gate Drive).

The driver of the Ford Mustang, identified as William Eduardo Gonzalez, age 21, of Wickham Road in Olney, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred this morning in Germantown.

On June 20 at approximately 10:44 a.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Middlebrook Road for the report of a pedestrian-involved collision.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2003 Toyota Sequoia, driven by Rachelle Tankeu, age 55, of Tilford Court in Germantown, was traveling west on Middlebrook Road.  At the intersection with Great Seneca Highway, the Sequoia, for reasons still under investigation, left the roadway and struck a pedestrian who was standing on the median.  The pedestrian is identified as Richard Lee Cooper age 64, of an unconfirmed address.  After striking the pedestrian, the Sequoia struck a 1998 Ford Expedition that was attempting to make a left turn from northbound Great Seneca Highway onto westbound Middlebrook Road.  The driver of the Expedition is identified as Gender Anelio Castillo Flores, age 32, of Grey Eagle Court in Germantown.

The drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the Ford were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The pedestrian, Cooper, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives Investigate Kensington Fatal Collision

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision that occurred last evening in Kensington.

On June 9 at approximately 6:05 p.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Connecticut Avenue at Franklin Street for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that a 2014 Toyota Camry was traveling north on Connecticut Avenue at Franklin Street.  A 2014 Ford C-Max was traveling south on Connecticut Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Franklin Street.  The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, Jose Luis Fajardo Romero, age 21, of Middlevale Lane in Silver Spring, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the Ford C-Max, Sharon Schatzberg Hormby, age 62, of Bitterroot Way in Rockville, was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred this evening.

On Thursday, May 18 at approximately 6:27 p.m., 6th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Woodfield Road and Emory Grove Road for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that an adult female pedestrian was traveling westbound on Emory Grove Road and crossing the northbound lanes of Woodfield Road when she was struck by a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck.  After the collision, the driver of the Sierra remained at the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.  The driver of the Sierra was not injured in the collision.

The identity of the victim will be released once family notifications have been made.

Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision at Georgia Avenue and Regina Drive

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred this morning in the 13000 block of Georgia Avenue.

On Friday, May 5 at approximately 8:15 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Georgia Avenue at Regina Drive for the report of a serious collision that had just occurred.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue approaching Regina Drive.  At the same time, a 2009 Honda Accord was attempting to make a left turn from westbound Regina Drive onto southbound Georgia Avenue.   For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided in the intersection.  As a result of the collision between the two Honda Accords, a Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) bus (which was not carrying any students) that was traveling southbound on Georgia Avenue near Regina Drive was also struck by the 2009 Honda Accord.

The driver of the 2005 Honda Accord is being identified as Ablavi Julienne Hobuame, age 25, of the 2200 block of Greenery Lane in Silver Spring.  She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the 2009 Honda Accord is being identified as Stavroula Doulaveris, age 81, of the 13400 block of Norden Drive in Silver Spring.  She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Doulaveris succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the MCPS bus is being identified as Hyeong Seok Kang, age 48, of the 19600 block of Gassaway Lane in Germantown.  He was not injured in the collision.
