Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Collision in North Bethesda

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved collision that occurred this morning in North Bethesda.

This morning (Friday, November 20) at approximately 5:09 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Rockville Pike at Grosvenor Lane for a report of a serious collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has determined that a 2019 Nissan Sentra was traveling north on Rockville Pike approaching Grosvenor Lane.  The pedestrian, identified as James Eugene White Jr., age 74, of the 10200 block of Grosvenor Place in North Bethesda, was attempting to cross northbound Rockville Pike from Grosvenor Lane.  For reasons still under investigation, the Sentra struck White Jr. on Rockville Pike.  White Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra is identified as Keisha Dannielle Francis, age 51, of the 500 block of Yale Avenue in Baltimore.  Francis was not injured in the collision.
