Police Ask for Public’s Help to Identify Westfield Wheaton Mall Assault Suspect; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section continue to investigate the October 1 assault of three female employees who were working inside a store located inside the Westfield Wheaton Mall.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The investigation by detectives determined that on Tuesday, October 1, three adult female employees were working at the Brow Art 23 salon located inside the Westfield Wheaton mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.  The suspect entered the store and began a conversation with two of the employees at the front counter.  During the interaction, the suspect forced the two victims into a rear storage area of the store where the third victim was working.  The three victims struggled with the suspect and were eventually able to flee from the store.   The suspect fled from the mall prior to responding officers’ arrival.

The suspect is described as an African American male who is approximately 6-foot tall with a medium build.  He has dark skin and a full beard and mustache.  The suspect was last seen wearing a black ball cap with a white skull printed on it, a black jacket over a white shirt, black jogger pants, and gray shoes.  The suspect was also carrying a pair of brown shoes.
