Two Suspects Charged in Montgomery Village Robbery; Police ask for Public’s Help to Identify Third Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section have arrested and charged Abraham William Assemian, age 19, of the 9500 block of Horizon Run Way in Montgomery Village, and Joshua Aaron Moore, age 19, of the 9300 block of Taverney Terrace in Gaithersburg, for robbery-related offenses for assaulting and stealing property from the 18-year-old male victim in Montgomery Village.  Today, detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the third suspect.

On Wednesday, December 19, at approximately 5:08 p.m., 6th District officers responded to a home on Walkers Choice Road for the report of a strong-arm robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that Assemian and Moore are known to the victim and that they had approached him near his Walkers Choice Road home.  Assemian, Moore, and the victim left the Walkers Choice Road area and were walking on Montgomery Village Avenue near Midcounty Highway when they were joined by the third suspect.  The victim, along with Assemian, Moore, and the third suspect, then entered a drainage tunnel that runs under Midcounty Highway.  Once all four had entered the tunnel, Assemian, Moore, and the third suspect assaulted the victim, stole property from him, and fled.  The victim sustained minor injuries during the assault and robbery.

On December 21, Assemian and Moore were each arrested on the strength of Montgomery County arrest warrants charging them both with robbery, theft: $100 to under $1,500, and second-degree assault.  Assemian and Moore are being held without bond.

Investigators continue to work to identify the third suspect in this robbery.  Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this robbery or who has knowledge of this robbery to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
