Detectives Investigate Theft of $5,000 Worth of Eyeglasses From Wheaton LensCrafters; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit continue to investigate the September 13 theft of approximately $5,000 worth of eyeglasses from a LensCrafters store in Wheaton.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On September 12 at approximately 10:15 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the LensCrafters store within the Westfield Wheaton mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road for the report of a theft that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the two suspects entered the LensCrafters store and immediately stole several pairs of eyeglasses from display shelves.  The suspects placed the glasses in shopping bags and fled when they were confronted by a store employee.

Detectives believe that since August, these same suspects have stolen eyeglasses from additional LensCrafters stores in the area.
