Double Shooting Investigated as Domestic-Related Murder-Suicide

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the fatal shooting of two adults in a home in the Spencerville area.

On Saturday, September 29 at approximately 8:00 p.m., 4th District officers along with Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 15100 block of Peach Orchard Road.  First responders located a 56-year-old male and a 53-year-old female, both deceased, inside the home.  The victims had apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies; a firearm was recovered at the scene.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the decedents were involved in a relationship and lived together in the home.  At this time detectives are unable to confirm the motive for the shootings but they are investigating this event as a domestic-related murder-suicide.

The identities of the victims will be released once family has been notified; additional information will be released as it is confirmed.

Sobriety Checkpoint to be Conducted on September 30; Always Choose a Sober Driver

The Montgomery County Police Department is again reminding motorists to have a plan, drive responsibly, and choose a sober driver.

Sunday, September 30, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department and troopers from Maryland State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint.

This enforcement is a component of the Department’s continuing effort to curb impaired driving and underage drinking.

The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed to the public in advance.

Concern for Missing Wheaton Juvenile

Update: September 28, 2018 – Jhohen Nohrey Calderon has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department -Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public for help in locating a missing Wheaton juvenile.

Jhohen Nohrey Calderon, age 15, of the 3300 block of Clay Street, was last seen at approximately 7:00 a.m. this morning (Thursday, September 27) when she left her residence on foot.  Calderon is described as a Hispanic female, 5’02” tall and weighing 140 pounds.  She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police and family are concerned for Calderon’s welfare.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Jhohen Nohrey Calderon is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).

Concern for Missing Wheaton Juvenile

Update: September 28, 2018 – Joshua Malik Carter has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department -Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public for help in locating a missing Wheaton juvenile.

Joshua Malik Carter, age 15, of the 2600 block of Chivalry Court, was last seen at approximately 7:55 a.m. this morning (Thursday, September 27) at Wheaton High School located at 12401 Dalewood Drive in Wheaton.  Carter did not return home after school and family has been unable to contact him.

Joshua Malik Carter is described as an African American male, 5’09” tall and weighing 160 pounds.  He has black hair in corn rows, brown eyes, and wears glasses.  Carter was last seen carrying a grey backpack and wearing a red t-shirt, black pants, white tennis shoes with red soles.

Police and family are concerned for Carter’s welfare.
