Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division have charged Ronald Leroy Stevenson, age 27, of the 1000 block of Ruatan Street in Silver Spring, for the May 29 home invasion robbery that occurred at a residence on Demetrias Way in Germantown.
On May 29, at approximately 12:01 a.m., 5th District officers responded to a residence in the 13600 block of Demetrias Way for the report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred.
The investigation by detectives determined that shortly before midnight, on Monday, May 28, two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, forced entry into the occupied home. An adult victim in the home reported to detectives that she heard the sound of gunshots inside the home and went to investigate. The victim was confronted by the two suspects who then threatened her with the handgun and demanded cash. The suspects obtained property from the home and fled.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the suspects fired several shots while inside the residence. Some of which penetrated a wall of the home and entered a neighboring home. Responding officers checked on the residents of that home and no injuries were reported.
During the investigation, detectives developed Stevenson as a suspect. On June 9, Stevenson was arrested at a Germantown residence and charged with home invasion robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond.
