Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Special Victims Investigations Division charged Roy David Evans Jr., age 31, of the Unit block of Woods Court in Essex, with committing sex offenses against a juvenile.

On February 16 detectives were made aware of sexual relationship between Evans Jr. and a 14-year-old female victim.  Investigators learned that the relationship began in June of 2015 when the victim replied to a Craigslist ad soliciting young models.  The posting encouraged potential models to contact the Craigslist poster on the social media application “Kik” at “Roddanger86”.  The “Roddanger86” Kik handle was later determined to belong to Evans Jr.  The victim contacted Evans Jr. through email and Kik and told him that she was 14 years old.

In three separate months, August, November, and December of 2015, Evans Jr. and the victim corresponded with each other and Evans Jr. drove to the victim’s residence in Montgomery County where he engaged in sexual acts with her each time they met.

On March 23, 2016, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Evans Jr. charging him with three counts of third-degree sex offense.

On March 31, 2016, detectives arrested Evans Jr. at his home on the strength of the Montgomery County arrest warrant.  Evans was released after posting a $150,000 bond.

During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that Evans Jr. has been posting ads for young models to contact him since 2014.  Evans Jr. used the Kik handle “Roddanger86” and an alias name of “Rodney”.  Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the Baltimore region.  Anyone who believes that they may have encountered Evans Jr. is asked to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or their local police department.
