The Montgomery County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who was located by officers this evening in Montgomery Village. The male’s name and where he lives is unknown; he appears to have a developmental disability.
Tonight at approximately 6:08 p.m., officers responded to Christopher Avenue and Hellingly Place in Montgomery Village after a concerned resident called 9-1-1 about a man who appeared to need assistance. Officers responded to that area and located an Asian male who is approximately 25 to 30 years old, 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and who is wearing a blue “Just Do It” Nike t-shirt, khaki pants, and sandals. The male only speaks Mandarin (Chinese). His name may be Jiawei Lin or Lin. Officers have not been able to determine where he lives.
The Department is asking anyone who may have information about the identity of this male to please call 9-1-1 immediately so that he may be reunited with family/friends.
Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man from Silver Spring.
Gary Pendergraft, age 63, is missing from the 900 block of Devere Drive in Silver Spring. He was last seen at approximately 9:48 p.m. last night in the parking of Target on Cherry Hill Road. He is described as a white male, approximately 6’02” tall, weighing 255 pounds, with black and silver hair and blue eye. He was last seen wearing tan pants and a blue long sleeve buttoned shirt with pink stripes. He also wears eyeglasses.
He is believed to be operating a white Dodge Ram truck with a camper, Maryland license plate 5BE6207. Police and family are concerned for Pendergraft’s physical and mental well-being.

Detectives from the 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a woman missing from Montgomery Village.
Rita Cummings, age 72, is missing from the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village. She was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. Cummings is described as a white female, 5’1″ tall, and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and maroon colored hair. She speaks with a slight Caribbean accent and walks with a hunch.
Police and family are concerned for Cummings’ physical and mental well-being.
