On 05/30/14 at approximately 4:30pm, Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to a personal injury collision in the 8000 block of Snouffer School Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a two vehicle collision involving a 1999 Toyota Sienna and a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck.
Preliminary investigation indicates the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was travelling westbound on Snouffer School Road. The 1999 Toyota Sienna was exiting the parking lot of the Horizon Center and attempting to make a left turn on to eastbound Snouffer School Road. The Dodge truck struck the driver side of the Toyota Sienna.
The driver of the Toyota Sienna sustained injuries and was transported to Medstar Hospital and has since been released. Three children (aged 12, 11 and 9) from the Toyota Sienna were transported to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. The 9-year old child sustained life threatening injuries and is in critical but stable condition at this time. The other two children sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Dodge truck refused medical treatment and remained at the scene.
The MCPD Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. The area of Woodfield Road and Snouffer School Road remain closed but should reopen around 10pm this evening.
An arrest has been made by Montgomery County Police Detectives in the assault and robbery incident that occurred at the Silver Spring Metro Taxi Stand on May 27, 2014.
Today, MCPD Detectives of the Silver Spring Investigative Section and members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s 4th District, arrested Elijah Jeremiah Smith, age 18, of Washington, DC, for the assault and robbery of a citizen in downtown Silver Spring during the early morning hours of May 27, 2014. A search warrant was conducted at the suspect’s residence and items of evidence related to the assault and robbery were recovered.

Montgomery County Police are investigating a serious collision in Gaithersburg on Woodfield Road at Snouffer School Road. Woodfield Road is closed in both directions while police investigate the collision. The collision occurred at approximately 4:30 pm between a van and a pick-up truck. The occupants of the van consisted of one adult driver and three children passengers. All occupants of the van were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the pick-up truck sustained minor injuries and remained on the scene.
Expect major delays in the immediate area while police conduct their investigation into the collision. This release will be updated as more information becomes available.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police’s 2nd District Investigative Section are concerned for the welfare of a missing Kensington man.
Eugene Randolph Brisco, age 59, was last seen at his residence around 11 am on May 29th. A silver alert was issued based on Brisco’s medical conditions. Brisco is driving a 2007 Nissan Quest van, red in color, MD Tag 53467ca. Brisco’s van was last observed in the area of the Fort McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore around 6:50pm on May 29th.
Brisco is described as a black, male, age 59, approximately 6’0″ in height and weighing approximately 190 lbs. Photo attached via link below.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police’s 1st District’s Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing North Potomac man.
Sergey Michael Podkovyrov, age 55, of the 11200 block of Trippon Court in North Potomac, was last seen on May 29, 2014 around 8am in North Potomac. He was operating a gray Nissan Van, MD Tag# 91774cc.
Podkovyrov is described as a white male, age 55, approximately 6’0″ tall and weighing around 165 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray sweater with brown pants, white sneakers and is currently on crutches.
Police are concerned for his emotional and physical well-being.
