A Silver Alert Has Been Issued for a Missing Silver Spring Woman

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 4th District Investigative Section are asking for help from the public to locate a woman missing from Silver Spring.

072613 Missing Silver Spring womanShirley Jane Pugh is described as a white, 71-year-old female, 5’8” tall, weighing 165 pounds. She has brown eyes and white hair. She was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and tan Capri pants.

She was last seen at approximately 1:45 p.m. today driving a 2002 silver Toyota Sequoia with Maryland tag M880524. She is believed to be headed toward a Home Depot store in Silver Spring. She resides in the 15300 block of Good Hope Road, but spent last night at a home in Prince George’s County. It is believed that she may have gotten lost trying to get to a Home Depot in Montgomery County. Ms. Pugh has Alzheimer’s Disease and does not have prescribed medication with her.

A Silver Alert has been issued by Maryland State Police.

Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify a Strong-Armed Robbery Suspect

072613 2D robbery compositeDetectives from the Montgomery County Police 2nd District Investigative Section are asking the public for help to identify the suspect responsible for a recent strong-armed robbery in Rockville. Detectives have worked with the victim to produce a computer-generated composite drawing that is believed to strongly resemble the suspect.

On Sunday, July 21 at approximately 10:13 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Grosvenor House apartment building parking garage at 10101 Grosvenor Place in Rockville, for the report of a strong-armed robbery that had just occurred. The investigation revealed that the adult female victim had parked her car and was walking toward a stairwell. Just as she entered the stairwell, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind, forcibly removed her purse from her shoulder and fled. The victim followed the suspect on foot and observed him enter and drive away in a black vehicle with a Maryland license plate.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 40’s, 5’9” tall, with a round face, heavy build and a medium to dark complexion. He had very short black hair, and facial hair to include a mustache and longer unshaven hair on his chin. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a short-sleeved red t-shirt, dark shorts, white gym socks that reached mid-calf, sneakers. He had a white towel around his neck.

Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning in Germantown.

Today, at approximately 11:35 a.m., officers from the 5th District responded to the Capital One Bank located at 21117 Frederick Road for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and produced a note demanding money.  The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7″ tall, and weighing 180 to 190 pounds.  He was wearing glasses and had his hair styled in long dreadlocks.  He was wearing a short-sleeved, button-down, plaid shirt.

Detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect involved in this bank robbery and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.  Detectives believe that this suspect is also responsible for a Capital One bank robbery that occurred on May 22 in White Oak.

Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Silver Spring

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section have been investigating a commercial burglary that occurred on June 20 in Silver Spring.  Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photo of the suspect and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On June 20, at approximately 9:57 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Obesity Society located at 8757 Colesville Road for the report of a burglary that had occurred earlier.  Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the building and then forced entry into the Obesity Society office suite.  Once inside the suite, the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the building.  The suspect was captured on surveillance video leaving the building at approximately 9:00 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 28 to 35, 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, with a heavy build.  He has black, medium-length hair.  The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and Nike high-top sneakers.  The sneakers were white and aqua blue with orange trim.
